who was dissatisfied with old media? (Nov 20, Nov 22)
1.5.1 the question
1.5.2 the technological imaginary
1.5.3 the discursive construction of new media & conclusion
"Discourse"
I don't even know what it is exact.
I heard that discourse is not only texts but also general map to post-structuralist.
It helps distingush between literature and not-literature.
That is discourse what I know..however it is complicate for me.
Pro.Yoon mention about prison and hospital.
How were those built.
Whoever have mental problems or break the laws, they were put in a jail, at that time.
But ,in 19c, the prison was seperated from the jail and mental hospital.
For having mental deseases, they need not put in jail but need treat.
That's why the mental hospital was built..
However, the funny thing is that artists, who are very famous with us, usually have
mental problems.
At that time there weren't the hospital so they couldn't treat much.
If they had a treatment, they don't become famous artists who we know.
So I suddenly think that we prevent from people who are very creative.
Because we think they are crazy and odd.
Are there any standards which we distingush people who are crazy or not??

Dejavu
what kind of history? 2 (Nov 11, Nov 13)
1.4.3 the return of the middle ages and other media archaeologies
1.4.4 a sense of deja vu & conclusion
I have had 'Dejavu' experience when I was a child.
At that time, I didn't know the word which I was felt.
Now I know about Dejavu..and there is Dejavu in korean...기지감?
In fact, I couldn't get what relationship between Dejavu and this lecture have.
However, pro.yoon said the story which I memorized.
Our memory is not believable.
I maybe misunderstood what pro.yoon said, because I memorized.
what he said something, I could understand differently.
So I wrote down, but I couldn't write exactly what I understand.
"Word" is not only discorrect but also expressing emotion.
Word isn't enough express what I felt. It just helps me.
However, are we too much dependent on word?
I mean, we always write and read what I wrote or was written by someone.
We may want to keep that memories which we don't want to lose?

perception VS recongnition
what kind of history? 1 (Nov 6, Nov 8)
1.4.1 teleological accounts of new media
1.4.2 new media and the modernist concept of progress
Whenever we saw someting or someone, we have perception and recongnition of them.
What is perception and recongnition?
Perception is the first image of something or someone.
That is, we contact them physically and then understand them.
However, recongnition is the image after we get perception.
That is, after we get experience, we recongnize them.
So perception could be wrong about my knowing.
Because I don't have much about experinces.
I always have wrong view of people. At first, I saw someone who is not familar with me,
I thought he or she is not kind. Because my perception was like this.
However, Getting know her and him, I recongnize I was wrong and misunderstood.
Their appearance makes me get perception.
Even if it could be incorrect about them.

old+new=new?
change and continuity (Oct 30, Nov 1)
1.3.1 introduction & 1.3.2 measuring newness
Old and New!
What are standards for Old and New?
How many years past can we tell "old"?
Difference between Old and New is only years?
Ages include for history and culture which influnece with right now.
That is, to combine old and new make new again.
So if we want to create New, we need also Old.
As I mention, New and Old aren't seperated, those are supporting each other.
Prof. Roger Palmer
I went to see Prof.Roger Palmer who is a professer of Leeds university.
It was quite exiting to know about his art.
Before we recongnize his art, we should know experience which he had.
His pirctures is not only the pictures. That means the pictures don't tell exactly what the pictures show.
Those have lots of meaning and storires.
He has traveled many countries so far.
Whatever he got experience, he represented his work.
When I took pictures, I don't think about much mean of picture.
I just want to have pictures, which show good and pretty.
However my pictures remind me what I was doing and what feeling I was.
I was dreamt by seeing my pictures.
Even thoug I didn't give much stories.
